I'm Kim Kieran—a proud Asian American mom navigating the exhilarating and sometimes downright exhausting journey of raising my extraordinary 11-year-old son, Dan.

I became a mom at 40, and from the start, I was determined to understand my son's developmental cues and recognize any signs that might guide me through the maze of special needs. Little did I know Dan would turn out to be a gifted and talented child, leading us on a rollercoaster of excitement and challenges that I never anticipated.

At just eighteen months old, Dan was reading and impressing his daycare buddies with shapes and colors, giving us a preview of the remarkable path that lay ahead. Fast forward to kindergarten, and his teacher suggested he join the fourth grade in Reading and the second grade in Math. Since then, we've had to navigate the highs of his sensitivity, the challenges of his verbal skills, and his interest in coding and chess. With school boredom and low executive function skills, it's been a daily struggle.
